ABOUT Mrs. Haun
Hi my name is Brittany Haun and I will be the PreK teacher at Pinnacle Academy. This will be my 10th year teaching preschool/PreK and my first year at Pinnacle Academy. I graduated George Mason University with a degree in psychology. Early Childhood education is my passion and I believe that a child with a strong foundation will accomplish his/her dreams. I am pursuing my CDA to help advance my educational practice.
Children have so much natural curiosity and excitement that is easy to capitalize on their overwhelming willingness to learn and help them reach their full potential in language, science, technology, engineering, art, and math. I encourage self-expression and highlight their interests and passions while learning to be a respectful member of the classroom. I teach with the belief that children will rise to our expectations, and thus my expectations are always high for every child. Professionally, I strive to learn more about child development everyday and believe in Piaget’s theory of play-based learning mixed with Vygotsky's theory of scaffolding. To maintain current educational practices in the classroom I am a member of NAEYC, NACDA, The Reading Connection, and The International Literacy Association. I will be using an interdisciplinary approach to reach multiple learning styles of students. My goal is for your child to learn to love learning, while pushing past thier own potential everyday.
In my free time I enjoy cooking reading, and swimming. My favorite thing to do though is to be outside hiking or camping with my husband Kyle and my puppy Nala. I cannot wait to get to know all of you and your children. I know this will be a fantastic year and we will all learn so much from each other.

ABOUT Mrs. Grijalva
Hi my name is Ximena Grijalva and I will be the PreK assistant teacher at Pinnacle Academy. This will be first year at Pinnacle Academy.
I graduated with the North America Montessori center and also have been a PreK teacher. I was born in Lima Peru and came to United State at 8 years old. I love working with and teaching children. I have 6 years of experience with early childhood education and I love every part of early childhood education.
In my free time I love to spend time with my husband Cristian and my son Sebastian. We love going out to the mall and going out for walks.
I am very exited to get to know all of you and your children. I am looking forward to having an amazing school year and teaching the children everything I know.
